Online Game Developer Shanda release Q4 and Full Year 2012 Results
Leading Chinese online game developer Shanda have announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2012.
For Q4 2012 net revenues were $172.1 million, down 20.2% YoY and up 0.1% QoQ. Gross profit $115.9 million, down 15.7% YoY and up 3.3% QoQ.
Average Monthly Active Users (MAUs) for all games operated in China increased 1.2% QoQ to 18.6 million and Average Monthly Paying Users (MPUs) for all games operated in China decreased 4.9% QoQ to 3.4 million.
For the FY 2012, net revenues decreased 11.4% $744.9 million. Gross profit decreased 8.5% YoY to US$486.8 million.
Mr. Xiangdong Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of Shanda Games commented “Our fourth quarter results were in-line with our expectations as we continued to strengthen our franchises, expand our game portfolio, and offer new content through various platforms and distribution channels. While revenues remained flat overall, we continued to gain traction overseas. Other revenues rose 61.3% quarter-over-quarter, driven in part by the solid performance of ‘Dragon Nest’ in overseas markets and mobile game ‘Million Arthur’ in Korea.”
